Ottawa’s December Music Events
If you’re a jazz fan, you can look forward to two great events happening next month. The Ottawa Jazz Festival 16th Annual Benefit Concert and Live Auction featuring Jane Monheit will take place December 5 at 6:30 p.m. at the Library and Archives Canada Building. On December 17, the Ottawa Jazz Festival will present Preservation Jazz Band Creole Christmas at the Dominion Chalmers United Church in Centretown. There will be a variety of jazz-influenced holiday favorites. View the website to learn more about tickets.
Ottawa’s Arts and Cultural Events
Film lovers won’t want to miss the 28th Annual European Union Film Festival, which is happening right now through December 1. Movie lovers can enjoy contemporary films from European directors such as Ole Christian Madsen, Lars-Gunner Lotz, Hardi Volmer, and Yannis Smaragdis. It takes place at the Library and Archives Canada, Bytowne Cinema and Club SAW near homebuyers in Lower Town and Byward Market. Be sure to visit the website for ticket prices.
Bytowne Museum will feature Taste of Mexico on December 14 at 6 p.m. Sample authentic regional Mexican cuisine and Mescal, a naturally distilled spirit. You must reserve your seat and purchase a ticket if you’re interested in attending.
