If you’re looking to stay in shape or want a fun day out, get ready for the upcoming National Capital 5K and 10K. Bring friends and family to this Somersault Event Series on July 30 starting at 8:30 am at the Terry Fox Athletic Facility.
No matter what level you are, whether a casual walker or a serious runner, don’t hesitate to sign up. Be sure to register by July 18 to make the regular entry fee.
If you miss the deadline, there’s no need to worry. You can still register the day of the race from 6am to 8am on the west field of the Terry Fox Athletic Facility, where race kits can be picked up.
The race will benefit Camp Quality, a non-profit organization that supports children with cancer.
Everyone will receive a medal at the end of the race. The top three winners will be awarded by gender in a brief ceremony after the race. The first place male and female will win merchandise prizes. Water and bagels will be available for everyone at the finish line.
Bring the kids at 11 am, same day same place, for the Wylie Ryan Kids Surf and Turf. Eleven and unders can participate in the 50m swim (or wade) and 500 m race. Sign up by July 24 for the $12 entrance fee. You can still sign up after July 24, but only cash will be accepted and T-shirts will no longer be available.
All participants will be awarded a shirt, a medal, and a light breakfast upon completion of the race.
