Father’s Day in Ottawa

Not sure what to do for Father’s Day this year? Here are a few ideas of things happening around Ottawa.

One of a Kind

The FCA Ferrari Festival will take place on Little Italy’s Preston Street. Father’s Day is the only day of the festival that dad can get the chance to ride around in a Ferrari. All for a good cause. The Scotiabank Charity Ferrari Dream Ride for Villa Marconi starts at 9 a.m. at the Ottawa St. Anthony’s Soccer Club and ends at 11:30 a.m.  Tickets are limited, so if you’re interested be sure to reserve a spot early.

If you’re unable to get a ride in a Ferrari, you can always go to the Father’s Day luncheon at Villa Marconi on Baseline Road. Tickets cost $25.

Active Events in Ottawa

The Alterna Ultimate Run for Men’s Cancers will be held on Father’s Day at Carleton University in Old Ottawa South. This is a great event for dads who love being active or enjoy the outdoors. You may choose to walk or run the race as an individual or as part of a team. Whatever you choose make sure to register ahead of time.

Registration and race kit pick up begins at 6:30 a.m. There will be a Father’s Day pancake breakfast at the end of the races at 8:30 a.m. followed by awards.

Eat Out in Orleans

Get ready for a two-day amateur rib cook-off and feast at Romantic Fireplace and BBQ in Orleans. Fifteen amateur teams will face off on Sunday, grilling chicken and ribs for five judges. If you want to compete you have to register by June 7. The fee is $50. The prize for Saturday’s competition is a $500 Traeger grill, while Sunday’s prize is $1000 cash.
